Showcasing 40 local artisans in two outposts on Warren Street in Hudson, the Hand Made Here holiday pop-up shops will welcome shoppers every day leading up to Christmas. 30 days of a unique co-operative retail experience from Black Friday to Christmas Eve, and then December 27 – 30.
Both locations open daily from 11AM – 5PM.
A wide selection of unique handmade gifts and vintage finds will be featured in both spaces; home goods, children’s toys, jewelry, clothing, farm-grown products, greeting cards, art, specialty foods and small gifts. All natural skin care, perfumes, soaps and shaving kits. For the gourmand, an assortment of locally made artisanal vegan chocolate, native fermentation raw vinegar and herbal tea. Prices range from $5 – $500 with most items priced below $50.
With Hand Made Here, Hudson River Exchange and Drop Forge & Tool seek to support the local creative economy by providing an affordable retail venue for regional makers and collectors to sell their wares for the duration of the holiday season. Participants share the shopkeeping responsibilities, and make it possible for the shops to be open with knowledgeable staff every day.
Special vendors — pop-ups in the pop-up! — will be scheduled throughout. Join us on November 30 when illustrator Lillian Melcher will be signing copies of her most recent book: The Adventures of Alexander Von Humboldt. Customers can make an appointment to have Jenny Lee Fowler snip their black paper silhouettes in the shop on December 1st and December 22nd, and Olde York Farm Distillery will be popping in to sell their distinctive local vodka, bourbon and liqueurs on December 7th.
