Art and design with an emphasis on Italian and European craftsmanship318 Warren Street, Hudson, NY 12534
Born from interior designer Andy Goldsborough, The Gilded Owl marries art and decor and has become a vivid example of Hudson as an attraction for collectors and the curious, alike, in search of high design and craftsmanship. While collaborating on the renovation and redesign of a 1785 Federal style house in Hudson, New York Andy and Elizabeth Moore co-created a new vision for a unique retail space. After years of neglect and stripping the house back to its stunning origins the rooms unfolded as a sequence of spaces that would allow the two and a half year old blog to become a real living gallery.
In 2017 further expanding their vision, they opened a second 3000 square foot gallery space at 318 Warren Street offering jewelry, objects and the full line of Chiavari chairs from Fratelli Levaggi. For the first time the chairs from the family owned factory in Liguria have been offered for sale in the US alongside other modern Italian vintage furniture by Gio Ponti, Vittorio Valabrega, Paolo Buffa and other master architects and craftsmen.
In November of 2019, a new location was opened on Melrose Avenue in the Los Angeles Design District and in the Spring of 2020 THE GILDED OWL will launch collaborations with Ceramica Francesco De Maio exclusively selling the BLU PONTI tiles from the famed Gio Ponti hotel The Parco di Principi in Sorrento, Italy and furnishings by USM/Haller.
