I am an interior designer with a well documented history in the fashion and beauty photography industry where having the ability to see things not just as they appear but as they could be can make or brake a career. Whether I am creating a look for a model, an actor, taking a photograph or designing an interior I do it with the same attention to detail and devotion to the task at hand.
Beauty is all around us and is so often unrecognized or undervalued. When I approach an interior design or renovation project I look for the defining elements of the architects original intent for the building. The style and period it was built in can offer a wealth of inspiration. The next step is discussing the clients needs and aspirations for their home, utilizing everything that is important to the architecture, eliminating what isn’t and collaborating with the team it takes to create the new design. Other parts of the job are color, texture and furniture, lighting and art. Most people have a life time of things they’ve collected and rely on their designer to curate, guiding them through the process of what to keep or not for the next chapter of their lives.
FRG Objects and Design / Art is the culmination of all my past experience in fields where an eye for beauty, design, the ability to collaborate and a love for what you do is vital. One feels it the moment you enter the light filled three thousand square foot space, where the items for sale are set up in vignettes, creating the impression of airy contemporary rooms you might see featured in shelter magazines. The point is to eliminate some of the guess work when considering a purchase, our beautifully restored, reimagined or custom made pieces are arranged to stand alone while being the part of a theme.
The goal at FRG is a beautifully curated relaxed environment where you can discuss with owner Rick Gillette how a piece of furniture or art you’re considering might work in your home. I’m always happy to hear your concerns and offer an opinion on whether you’d be making a wise choice or not. Every item we offer was chosen for its unique design qualities and in many cases elevated from an undervalued cast off to a one of a kind thing of beauty, suitable to be shown in a Gallery / Showroom where the line between fine art and home décor is blurred.
