Grazin’ Spirits – Tasting Room & Restaurant

    In 2002, Dan & Susan Gibson started Grazin‘ Angus Acres (GAA) in Ghent, NY. The farm painstakingly built a grass-fed & finished Black Angus herd employing a synergistic rotational grazing system combined with numerous egg mobiles to produce great tasting and healthy animal proteins while also restoring the land. The farm also pasture raises meat chickens and heritage Tamworth, Old English Spot and Berkshire pigs. All GAA livestock is exclusively pastured; animals are never placed in barns or otherwise contained. The cattle are fed hay and bailage in amounts necessary to supplement their grazing routine; hogs and chickens are also pastured and secure the majority of their protein through foraging, but are supplemented with certified organic soy-free grain in discretionary feeders. GAA attends Greenmarkets at Union Square in Manhattan on Saturdays.

    In October of 2011, the Gibsons started Grazin‘ Farm-To-Table: Direct, an organic diner, in Hudson, NY. Every ounce of beef, pork and chicken served at Grazin’ comes directly from Grazin‘ Angus Acres, and the majority of other ingredients stocked and served are organic and/or come from local and in-state farms. Grazin’ Farm-To-Table: Direct has been a fixture in Hudson since its doors opened, showcasing the great things the northern Hudson Valley community and its farmers have to offer.

    In 2017, Keith Gibson and his wife, Nicole, continued his family’s organic farming and entrepreneurial legacy and founded Grazin’ Spirits and the Unburdened Distillery on Grazin’ land. Distilling all local and organic grains by hand in a one-man process to produce truly untainted vodka, gin, and craft bourbon barreled in white oak casks built in the Adirondacks and aged a minimum of 2 years. Grazin’ Spirits joined Farm to Table Direct in 2021, showcasing Unburdened distillations in a newly created tasting room and offering a diverse selection of New York State-only beers, wines, and ciders. Grazin’ Farm To Table Direct has become even more direct and even more unique: growing, processing, harvesting, distilling, eating and drinking exclusively from our farm to your plate – fully by hand, always organic, strictly local and still one farm, one family, one commitment to the most natural way of doing the most important things.
