Dr. Maria Gibbons, a native of Dutchess County, New York who grew up in Hyde Park, is a 1996 graduate of the New England College of Optometry (Doctor of Optometry, 1996). Prior to optometry school, Dr. Gibbons earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Holy Cross (1991). Since that time, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that her patients obtain the vision care needed to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. Deeply respected for her unwavering dedication, gentle spirit of compassion, and meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Gibbons has a keen ability to catch, diagnose, and successfully treat eye-related concerns and diseases, actively listening to each patient and responding with highly customized care plans. She works with individuals and families throughout the life cycle, and has an extensive background helping patients with special needs, along with patients who present with a wide range of eye conditions. Dr. Gibbons is a member of the New York State Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She lives in the Village of Rhinebeck; in her free time, Dr. Gibbons loves to read, create, and exercise.
A Board Certified optometrist, Dr. Michael Madigan grew up in Canada. He graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1996 (after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Western Ontario). Dr. Madigan is a certified low vision specialist who has helped countless patients over the years optimize their usable vision, maximize the use of available technology and assistive devices, manage their vision impairments, and enjoy a higher quality of life. In addition to bringing warmth and expertise to individuals and families, Dr. Madigan has also provided care to community members through nonprofit organizations such as Astor Services for Children and Families, Northern Dutchess Hospital, and Anderson Center for Autism. His love of community has also extended to a number of other initiatives; he served as president and remains an active member of the Rhinebeck Lions Club, along with service as past president of the Saugerties Youth Hockey Association Board and former Board member of the Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Madigan is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. He lives in the Village of Rhinebeck; in his free time, Dr. Madigan enjoys ice hockey and skiing.
