Tomorrow Tomorrow Farm is a youth mentoring program using animals to teach children mutual respect for one another and their shared environment. A favorite program uses the horse to teach children kindness and empathy, which will enable creating trust and power between them. It’s an empirical power when a 1,200 pound ex-racehorse Thoroughbred follows a child like a puppy. It’s beautiful to watch, and just another example, when a horse kisses an autistic child and that night, the 8-year-old child, who never spoke a word, speaks for the first time and says, “horse, nurse.” These are only a few examples of just how powerful the horse’s therapeutic powers can manifest.
Life is an art when teaching kindness, empathy and trust to children. So be an artist— we need more of them; it’s a gift to the next generation.
