What brought you to Hudson, and how long have you been here?

For various reasons my time in NYC was up. I had friends in the area so had some anchors locally and love the beauty of the Hudson River Valley. The train station was an added plus! That was 5 years ago.

What’s it like being a part of Hudson’s business community?

I’m honored to be part of the business community here. It’s full of savvy, enthusiastic, and intelligent merchants, gallerists and restaurateurs who really care about keeping what’s special about Hudson intact. It’s wonderfully cohesive and supportive.

What makes Hudson a unique place to visit?

Hudson has a strong sense of community. The residents are creative, smart and involved. You can chat on Instagram with the Mayor. Oh and especially unique? Daily alternate side of the street parking!

What is one thing visitors to Hudson must see while they’re here?

Rebus!

What’s your idea of a perfect weekend in and around Hudson?

These days I’m holding down the fort at Rebus interacting with customers who are from near and far which is delightful. Before the shop opened, during winter, a perfect weekend was cozying up in my 150+ year old house. I rarely miss the Saturday farmers market whatever time of year. Otherwise somewhat regular weekend activities could include getting matcha from Supernatural, stuffing myself with a loaded egg sandwich from Kitty’s or a pâté sandwich from Cafe Mutton, strolling around Art Omi or Olana, exploring and exploring again the streets and alleys of Hudson always discovering something new, sunbathing and swimming at Oakdale Lake, seeing what’s on view in the carriage house at the Pamela Salisbury Gallery, Warren Street shopping (of course!), a spin around the Antique Warehouse, grabbing a martini at Wm. Farmer & Sons, then pasta at Feast & Floret, watching the sunset from Henry Hudson Park.

What is your favorite memory of being in Hudson (so far)?

The day Rebus opened. That night was Winter Walk. The shop was packed with friends old and new, locals and tourists. The holiday spirit was in the air!
